Belmont Park Hosts Breeders Cup 2005

Saturday, October 29, 2005, The Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships heads back to Belmont Park in NY for the fourth time in its illustrious 21-year history.

The 2001 Breeders' Cup at Belmont Park, in the wake of the September 11 tragedy, Tiznow captivated our country's spirit by defeating European sensation Sakhee in the Breeders' Cup Classic. The prestigious eight-race event features $14 million in purses.

Every year, the sport of horse racing comes to a fitting finale with the Breeders Cup World Thoroughbred Championships. This traveling year-end championship features not one but eight all-star horse races cumulatively worth $14 million in purses, showcasing the world's best in thoroughbred horses racing.

Unrivalled in its millions in prize money and its international cast of talent, the prestigious Breeders' Cup races offer nonstop action in horse racing betting and handicapping.

Since 1984, the Breeders' Cup World Thoroughbred Championships has provided Horse racing with some of its finest moments.
